Summary and Overall Rating

Edison Park K-8 Center serves students from PreK through eighth grade in Miami, with approximately 437 students and a class size of about seventeen to one. The school generally performs above district norms academically and is noted for its Gifted and Talented offerings as well as its Cambridge International curriculum. According to recent performance metrics, around 49 percent of students score proficient in math and about 39 percent in reading.

District policies require staff to respect student chosen names and pronouns beginning in early grades. Parents are not given the option to opt out of these practices, which are part of Miami–Dade County Public Schools’ system-wide requirements.

From a traditional or faith-based perspective, Edison Park K-8 Center receives a rating of 3.5 out of 10. While academic offerings and curriculum quality stand out, district identity protocols may raise concerns for some families.
