Summary and Overall Rating

North Glade Elementary School serves PreK through Fifth Grade in Miami Gardens. It enrolls approximately 220 students with a student teacher ratio of about eighteen to one. Academic performance is below average with proficiency rates near 55 percent in math and 54 percent in reading. Chronic absenteeism remains a serious concern with rates between 28 and 34 percent in recent years.

District guidelines require staff to respect student chosen names and pronouns beginning in early grades. Parents are not provided an option to opt out of these practices.

From a traditional or faith based perspective the school receives a rating of 3 out of 10, due to low academic outcomes, high absenteeism, and district identity policies that may conflict with some family values.
