Summary and Overall Rating

South Pointe Elementary School serves PreK through Fifth Grade in Miami Beach. It enrolls approximately 460 students with a student teacher ratio of about fifteen to one. Academic performance is strong with roughly 67 percent proficiency in math and 63 percent proficiency in reading. Chronic absenteeism has recently increased to around 31 percent.

District guidelines require staff to respect student chosen names and pronouns beginning in early grades. Parents are not provided an option to opt out of these practices.
